Cutino Park Improvement Project
Master Plan
Cutino Park is a 6.62 acre multi-use park located at the corner of San Pablo Avenue and Noche Buena Street, adjacent to the Boys and Girls Club,in the City of Seaside. Cutino Park is one of the most heavily used parks in the City. Existing facilities at the site include a lighted youth baseball field,spectator seating, concession and restroom building, storage building, basketball court, handball court, playground area, concrete fountain, picnic area and paved pathways.
The City of Seaside renovated the park for better community use, code compliance and sustainability. This project will significantly improve the park for use by more residents and youth programs and will become a quality of life asset in our community.

Skate Park Rules
This is a family facility. For your safety and enjoyment, please follow these important rules:
The skate park is an unsupervised facility. Skate at your own risk.
- By entering this facility you assume all risks and responsibilities that are inherent to extreme sports activities which could result in harm to property, yourself, and others.
- Skate park hours are from 8am – sunset unless otherwise noted. Entering at any other time is trespassing and may result in a citation and seizure of equipment.
- Se of skateboards and other wheeled recreational devices are hazardous activities.
- Helmet, knee pads and elbow pads are required to be worn while using the designated skate park area.
- Failure to wear helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads in the designated skate park area will subject persons to citation. Seaside municipal code – 9.08.070
- The skate park will be closed during rain or if the surface is wet.
- Do not use park features outside of your skill or ability level.
- No bikes or motorized vehicles of any kind in the skate park.
- Skaters under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years of age.
- No glass in or around the skate park.
- No food or drink on the skating surface.
- No smoking/vaping/tobacco, alcohol, or drug use of any kind.
- Tagging, graffiti, placing stickers, or defacing the skate park in any manner is a crime. Vandals will be prosecuted
- No profanity, recklessness, fighting, or disruptive and aggressive behavior.
- Organized contests or competitions are prohibited unless pre-approved by the recreation department director.
- Additional obstacles such as ramps, jumps or rails are strictly prohibited.
- Amplified music that can be heard from outside the park perimeter is prohibited.
- Animals and pets are strictly prohibited on the skating surface.
- Violation of these rules may result in a citation and/or expulsion from the skate park.

Lloyd Garnett Field Rules
This is a family facility. For your safety and enjoyment, please follow these important rules:
- The field is an unsupervised facility. Use at your own risk.
- By entering this facility you assume all risks and responsibilities that are inherent to extreme sports activities which could result in harm to property, yourself, and others.
- Field hours are from dawn to dusk unless otherwise noted. Entering at any other time is trespassing and may result in a citation and seizure of equipment.
- Users of the field are responsible for any damage that occurs from objects that leave the field of play.
- Metal spikes, metal cleats, or screw in cleats of any kind are strictly prohibited on the field. Only plastic molded cleats or athletic shoes are permitted.
- Permitted users have priority use of the field.
- All organized groups require a use permit.
- No sharp objects that could pierce or damage the turf surface are allowed to include but not limited to: tent stakes, corner flags, & certain types of folding chairs and tables.
- Smoking/vaping/tobacco, alcohol, or drug use of any kind is strictly prohibited.
- No glass containers of any kind.
- Water is the only liquid permitted on the turf surface.
- No food, gum, sunflower seeds, or other types of shelled nuts allowed on the turf surface.
- All forms of wheeled recreational equipment is prohibited on the turf surface.
- No animals or pets on the turf surface.
- No profanity, recklessness, fighting, or disruptive and aggressive behavior.
- No golf.
- No unauthorized vehicles.
- No bbq’s or other types of open flames on or around the turf surface.

The Project
The City of Seaside is moving forward with site improvements to Cutino Park. The proposed improvements include:
- Renovation of the natural grass athletic
field with synthetic turf for multi sports use,
- Replace the existing playground with a new inclusive playground area,
- Install a skate park,
- Upgrades to the restroom building,concession stand and storage facility, to accommodate American's with Disability Act (ADA),
- Add a parking lot,
- Add lighting, communications and security upgrades
- Providing spectator seating,
- Integrate accessible circulation throughout the site,
- Create an overall theme and entry features,
- Maintain the existing positive mature aspects of the site

Ground Breaking Ceremony
The City of Seaside held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Cutino Park Improvement Project on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 4 PM.
Stakeholder Involvement
The City of Seaside staff and the Verde Design and their subconsultants are the "Design Team," but we see all of Cutino Park's stakeholders as members of the "Design Team" and are looking to partner with you and receive your input, ideas, suggestions and concerns.This is your park and our desire and goal is that the completed park reflects the community, and its user's needs.

Focus Groups
There were two focus groups to creating the skate park rules and regulations. Questions included park hours of operation, park uses, consumption of food and beverages within the park, adult supervision, and more. Thanks for joining in on the conversation!

Design Renditions
Grand Opening:
The City of Seaside held the ribbon cutting ceremony on August 24, 2019. This was a free event open to the public that aimed to showcase the versatility of the newly renovated park. There was a community pick-up soccer game and softball game to launch the new turf field. On The Beach Surf Shop sponsored a Skate Jam to celebrate Seaside’s first skate park, starting at approximately 12 PM. There was also free food and giveaways to commemorate the day.
The City of Seaside would like to thank all community members and stakeholders that participated in our design charrettes, community listening sessions, focus groups, and public meetings to make this park the most inclusive community space in the city.
