SUMMER / FALL REGISTRATION HAS BEEN POSTPONED

The City of Seaside continues to work collaboratively with local and national agencies to actively monitor the COVID-19 situation. In response to Monterey County Public Health guidelines, preventative measures have been put in place that include the postponement of all recreation activities and facility reservations. Registration


We offer two sessions per year; "Winter-Spring" and "Summer-Fall". Registration for Winter-Spring is held in December. Registration for Summer-Fall is held in May. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Residents receive priority registration during the first two days of a new session. After that, our classes are open to everyone. Payment is required at the time of registration. There is no proration of fees for partial participation in activities or classes.

Mailing in Registration Form & Payment


When mailing in your registration form (PDF) you can use your credit or debit card (include account number, expiration date, and security code) or pay by check. Please include a separate check for each class you are registering for. This will allow us to return your check if the class you are registering for is full, while still enabling us to enroll you in those classes that are available. You will receive a copy of your receipt for your records. Instructors will not take money at the class and cannot accept you into a class until you have registered, paid, and presented a copy of your receipt to them.

This method is convenient and easy to use! Please visit our online registration website to register. A user name and password is required. If you have not been issued a user name and password, please visit the Oldemeyer center at 986 Hilby Avenue to sign up for online registration access.

General Information 

Full payment is due at time of enrollment by cash, check, or Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Checks are payable to the City of Seaside. Returned checks will be assessed a service charge of $25. Participants must preregister for all programs. It is the participant’s responsibility to attend the activity or call to verify their enrollment if a receipt is not received. Registration and payment for one session does not guarantee enrollment in subsequent sessions.


Resident & Non-Residents 

Proof of residency (a driver’s license or utility bill) is required at the time of registration. Residents are defined as those who reside in Seaside and all active and retired military and their dependents with valid I.D. cards. Please advise us of your military status at the time of registration. Non-residents are defined as residents of all other cities. Non-residents are charged a slightly higher fee.

Refund Policy 

Once a class starts no refunds are given. Refunds will be issued prior to the start of the class once a written cancellation request is received by the Recreation Department. A $7 fee is charged per class, per person. For classes that were originally paid for by credit card, a credit will be issued to that same credit card. For classes originally paid for by check or cash, a refund check will be issued through the Finance Department.

Medical refunds must be requested prior to the end of the class session for which you are registered and accompanied by a written medical excuse from a doctor.

Cancellations 

Activities without the minimum enrollment will be cancelled or combined. If the activity, class, or trip is cancelled the City of Seaside will issue you a full refund. Refunds $5 and under will be credited to your household account to be used toward future class registration.
