The Records Division of the Seaside Police Department is a part of Support Services. It consists of five full-time technicians and one supervisor. The Records Division is the clerical support unit for patrol and investigations.
Responsibilities
Records maintains all the files for the department, excluding personnel files. When you enter our Station lobby, you will probably be greeted by a Records Technician. When you telephone the police station, you probably will first speak to a Records Technician. Records Technicians are responsible for all of the department's data entry and transcription of police reports.
How to Obtain a Police Report
The Records lobby and counter are open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you need a copy of a police report you filed you may obtain one at the station during these days / hours. It is strongly recommended that you call first to confirm that the report is completed and ready for release.
Note: The Records Division personnel will help you to the best of their ability, however state law prohibits them from providing any legal advice.
Seaside Police Holding Facility
The Seaside Police Department is equipped with a temporary prisoner holding facility. The jail facility has a booking area, fingerprinting / photo room and both male and female holding cells.
Seaside Police Detention Officers are responsible for completing prisoner booking and for monitoring prisoners until they leave our facility.
